We are so delighted to be partnering with Grenada School District Lower Elementary Pre-K program which utilize the OWL curriculum.
The OWL Curriculum is “Opening the World of Learning” a comprehensive pre-K program that will help teachers create an effective and developmentally classroom.
An OWL classroom is a lively classroom, one that is full of books, songs, stories, and conversations. An OWL classroom is one in which children experiment and explore. In an OWL classroom, children engage in purposeful and playful learning experiences and develop academically, socially and emotionally.
Grenada Head Start classrooms A-D have been chosen as part of the MDE collaborative classrooms. These classes teachers are A-Watson/Adams, B– Dunn/Hamilton, C-Watson/Boclair and D– Black/Mallett.
All the classes in regular, Head Start are utilizing the OWL curriculum. We are working closely with our parents so that we are all on the same page, and that page is teaching our children to become successful. Our 45 days deadline will becoming to an end soon. The children have been screened in Speech, Hearing, and Language, Battelle (Developmental & Sensory), Social/Emotional Behavior Checklist are in process, and 1st Home Visit should have been conducted. We look forward to having a great year with our parents participation! The children participating in the Collaboration program with Grenada Lower Elementary have also completed the 1st round of testing. We are expecting great things from this partnership.
